The President of Ethiopia visits URSUS assembly line

On 18th November 2015 the President of Ethiopia dr Mulatu Teshome visited the assembly line of URSUS tractors in Adama, Ethiopia. During the visit he had an opportunity to take a look at the technology of the tractor assembly line and he personally carried out the final quality test using the diagnostic equipment delivered by URSUS S.A. as a part of the contract.

The assembly plant started operating on 12th May 2015 in connection to the realization of the contract from 2013 for the delivery of tractors, spare parts and equipment to be used in the service centres in Ethiopia. Currently the plant employs local workers trained by Polish engineers and technologists. The opening ceremony was attended by Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma, the chairperson of the African Union Commission. The cutting of the ribbon was performer by Lech Wałęsa, the former President of Poland.

The assembly plant in Ethiopia is a bridgehead of URSUS S.A. which will allow for further expansion on the African markets. The company concluded the second contract in Ethiopia – the agreement with Ethiopian Sugar Corporation (ESC) for the delivery of tractors, trailers and spare parts for the transport of sugarcane. Moreover, a few weeks ago URSUS S.A. signed a contract with National Service Corporation Sole (SUMA JKT), a Tanzanian firm, for the delivery of 2400 tractors, equipment and spare parts together with the equipment for the assembly plant and service centres in Tanzania.
